Author Guidelines

1: Manuscript Preparation
1.1 Title Page
The title page should include:

A concise and informative title
The name(s) of the author(s)
The affiliation(s) and address(es) of the author(s)
The e-mail address, telephone, and fax numbers of the corresponding author.
An abstract of 300 words. The abstract should not contain any undefined abbreviations or unspecified references.
A list of 4 to 6 keywords that can be used for indexing purposes.
1.2 Text Formatting
Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word or Word perfect software. A Microsoft Word template is available for manuscript preparation.

Use a normal, plain font (e.g., 10-point Times New Roman) for text. (Style Normal in the template)
Use numbered headings for dividing the manuscript into sections and sub-sections ( Style: Heading1, Heading2 and Heading 3 in the template)
Use the table function, not spreadsheets, to make tables.
Use the equation editor or MathType for equations.
Save your file in Docx format (Word 2007 or higher) or doc format (older Word versions).
All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
For each table, please supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table.
Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the table caption.
Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body.

1.3 Tables
All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
For each table, please supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table.
Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the end of the table caption.
Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body.

1.4 Artwork, Figures and Illustrations
It is highly recommended that you submit all of your artwork – photographs, line drawings, etc. as a part of your manuscript.

All figures are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
Figures should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
Figure parts should be denoted by lowercase letters (a, b, c, etc.).
Each figure should have a concise caption describing accurately what the figure depicts. Include the captions in the text file of the manuscript, not in the figure file.
Identify previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference citation at the end of the figure caption.

2: Manuscript Length
There is no restriction on the length of submitted manuscripts. However, authors should note that publication of lengthy papers, typically greater than forty pages, is often significantly delayed, as the length of the paper acts as a disincentive to the reviewer to undertake the review process.

3: References
3.1 Citation
Reference citations in the text should be identified by numbers in square brackets. Some examples:

This result was later contradicted by Becker and Seligman [5].
This effect has been widely studied [1-3, 7].
3.2 Reference list
The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for a reference list.
The entries in the list should be numbered consecutively.

For authors using EndNote or Mendeley.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS

The peer review wants to ensure that only good science is published in JEGE. Our referees play an important role in maintaining the standards of the Journal of Economic Growth and Entrepreneurship, which is why all incoming manuscripts are peer reviewed following the procedure outlined below.

One of the Chief Editors first evaluates all submitted manuscripts. Each paper will be evaluated by 2 reviewers based on a set of objective criteria. Their assessments allow placing the paper in one of the following categories:

(1) Accepted without revisions;

(2) Accepted with minor revisions;

(3) Accepted with major revisions;

(4) Rejected.

In case that a paper will be differently evaluated by the reviewers, another reviewer will be invited to bring the third evaluation. This leads to an objective assessment of each paper.

The referees remain anonymous to the author(s) throughout and following the refereeing process, whilst the identity of the author(s) is likewise unknown to the reviewers.

Whenever possible, referees are matched to the paper according to their expertise. As our reviewer database is constantly being updated, we welcome suggestions for referees.

Referees are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript:

- Is original

– Is methodologically created

- Follows appropriate ethical guidelines.

- Free from scientific plagiarism

- Has results which are clearly presented and support the conclusions

Language correction is not part of the peer review process, but referees are encouraged to suggest corrections of language and style to the manuscript.

The time required for the review process is dependent on the response of the referees. For the Journal Journal of Smart Economic Growth, the typical time for the first round of the refereeing process is approximately 4 weeks, with a maximum of two months.

A final decision to accept or reject the manuscript will be sent to the author along with the recommendations made by the referees.

Referees advise the Chief Editor, who is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject the article.
